Quarterly (four times a year) you'll pick up your club package at the Mood Wine Club event.
How do I join?
Order online in our store. Once your membership is paid for, we can send you the latest club release, you can opt to pick it up at the next event in your area, or we can make other arrangements if you contact us!
If you're not sure yet, contact us for an invitation to the next event.
Going to the grocery store for wine can be such a drag. The good stuff is usually overpriced, and the low-priced stuff is cheap but seldom a good value.
We want to give you access to fine artisanal wines unavailable in most stores... wines personally selected by us for their great value.
We thought long and hard about what to include in our wine club shipments.
We decided we don't want to offer average quality wines, but we also don't want to break your bank. A lot of folks can't afford to buy an Artemis cab every month.
So the short answer is: the price of club wines will vary; the first set of three bottles will price around $90-110. This is consistent with fine boutique wineries but you will not pay for shipping since you're picking up your wine from us.
Wines similar to the ones offered in our clubs can price far above $30 or even $40 per bottle; the key is knowing where to find value. That's what we aim to do for you.
We will charge members' credit cards prior to each event so that their club wine can be shipped (free of shipping costs) to the event.
We're going to get together at least quarterly; depending on the club and the location, the times of year will vary. Clubs will have the freedom to design their events, and to plan additional events if they wish.
If that's not enough, we can arrange for Mood Mingles. More about that in a minute.

1. Wine education
We want to educate you and help you understand what you're tasting. As you learn how to taste, your palette will become more discerning, and when you're out to dinner in a restaurant, you'll have more confidence finding wine you know you'll like on the menu, instead of playing pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey with the wine list. You'll learn what wines tend to complement what foods (white with chicken is NOT often a good rule of thumb).
2. Recipes designed to pair with club wines
We want to help you serve the right cuisine with your wines, so Patrick will be blogging about how to do that, and he will be available to club members for advice if you want to plan a dinner party with your club wines.
In the future, as pads replace laptop and desktop computers, we plan to offer the pairings and Patrick's recipes in the form of an interactive e-book.
3. Help with your parties and events
Contact us on Facebook or at SouthernCaliforniaWines@gmail.com for help choosing a good but inexpensive wine selection for your next party. You wouldn't believe how often wine drinkers skip the wine and order a cocktail because the wine selection is, well, icky.
