Rex Pickett's Sideways the Play and Woodworth Pinot!

What a crazy busy weekend for Mood Wine! First we did our first ever wine country weekend - Flame the Vines, and then on Sunday morning we checked out and headed straight to Santa Monica to pour wine for the play of the Iconic movie Sideways...
The things we get to do!!!
The movie has been such an endearing and enduring wine movie that the author decided to write a play from his original novel... you probably remember this phrase if nothing else...
As shouted by actor Paul Giamatti in the film
This single phrase did more to harm the sales of Merlot that anyone could have EVER imagined. The theater is going to do a special show and feature great Merlots.

The author Rex Pickett was there and we got to meet him...
Rex and Patrick
Getting to meet Rex for a wine guy is akin to getting to meet J.K as a Harry Potter lover! Rex is awesome... funny, friendly, engaging, and HE LOVED THE WINE!

The play is showing at this very cool little acting school and performing arts theater in Santa Monica - the Ruskin Theatre Group, the show continues to sell out every performance since its debut in May, and it shows no signs of slowing down, it's getting great critical reviews too...

This beautiful young lady is a recent graduate of the school - Jake took this picture because she was too beautiful to ignore...
Denisee
Denisee was working the concession stand and had the cutest Brazilian accent!

The stage totally captured the essence of the movie and the many tasting rooms the guys visited in their wine country romp...
Set for Sideways.
And here's a broader view...

And we had this charming guy and LOYAL Moodie help us...
Robert and Patrick
I was miffed because ROBERT'S shirt upstaged my hat... DAMN HIM!

So now that we are back from our fun weekend of tasting wine, eating food and pouring award winning Pinot Noir for theater folk, it's time to work on several blog posts... Gonna have some great wine tasting and food shots coming your way this week!
