What a Difference a Year Makes!

We are always curious and trying new inexpensive wines. Jake picked up these two bottles of wine for us to try...
Fun White Wine from Portugal
Do you notice the difference?
Hmmm what could it be?
Ok, not to clobber you with it, but look at the color differences... one's an 2009 and the other a 2010...
The 2010 is on the left, and 2009 on the right
So, this weekend we are going to open them and figure this out. The color difference could mean a few things:
  1. The 2009 is seriously oxidized and could taste more like Sherry than crisp white wine
  2. The 2010 is just a lighter wine - possibly due to higher harvest yields, more rain that year, or how the winemaker vinified it
  3. Or it could be a little of both - only tasting will tell
STAY TUNED... we will get to the bottom of this!
