Welcome to one of the coolest cheese shops in Southern California!
Temecula Valley Cheese Company...
|
This sign says it all! |
Especially when you visit this shop. Owner Shawna Smoot will make you smile, even if the cheese doesn't...
|
Being silly with Shawna and the pretty cheese she put out for Jake to photograph |
Shawna is not only the owner of this shop, but a trained cheese maker. Oh and she's also a Patrick Certified WINE-O! She is my go-to gal when I need expert advice on pairing wine with cheese.
We've many times sat with a taste of wine (or several) and discussed its pairing merits with arrays of cheeses she pulled. And she has lots of cheeses to pull from, and they are from all over the world...

My version of a kid in a candy shop!!! |
Aren't these cheeses just calling your name? If they are, you can have them once a quarter, all you have to to is join her cheese club. I've been in it for several years... I recently posted on what I did with my last club selections...
A PRETTY LITTLE CHEESE PLATE
And in addition to cheese, her shop is replete with all the necessary accoutrements, such as...
|
Her chalk board serves as a gentle reminder that cheese needs friends too |
And, if meat and cheese and crackers and bread and olives and nuts and dried fruit isn't enough...
|
CHIMAY = YAY!!! |
She has a pretty bottle of my favorite Belgian Ale
CHIMAY. Jake likes to say this is "fruity" beer. I don't think he means it in a nice way, but I take it that way. Belgian beers are generally the most "WINE" like of all beers... they are usually bright, with lots of fruit expression and not at all hoppy. You can tell by the Champagne style bottle that this is a special beer, and will look SO PRETTY in a glass. Check out the link to learn more about this Trappist Monk beer from Belgium with a social focus.
This is just one of several wine and beer options she has in her shop!
Oh, and about that pretty picture of cheese that Shawna set up for Jake...

Cheese a Trois |
You know me and my thing for trios!
HAPPY SATURDAY!
I enjoyed this post. In Dallas we are lucky to have Paula Lambert...owner and founder of The Mozzarella Company. Almost all the great chefs around the country buy some of their cheese from her. Cheers!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Bratprince! I LOVE Mozzarella, I shall check it out!
