The Market on Holly - A Pasadena MUST SEE!

Long story short - I have a friend from my past I discovered on Facebook (like so many of us have). We knew each other as teenagers and haven't seen each other since about 1982 (you do the math). The cool thing is, she has had a catering company for years, and just this last year opened up a VERY COOL market-cafe - The Market on Holly in the Heart of Old Pasadena...
The Market On Holly
We visited for brunch on Sunday - it was such a great reunion with an old friend - Meet Mary Pat Brandmeyer...
Patrick and Mary Pat - BooBoo as I remember her ;-)
Not only does she have a thriving catering business but now this amazing market-cafe. Let me show you what your next visit to Pasadena can include along with a quick alley tour...

The whole place has a very hip, casual vibe...
Interior
They have the dessert, espresso bar, the cheese counter, and amazing food like this house-cured Gravlax served on a bagel with cream cheese, capers, onions and lemon...
Gravlax Bagel Sandwich
Oh, and they are also a local CSA drop and pick-up site!

Not only do they have the super quaint interior, but sidewalk dining as well...

Here's another shot of the interior...
Don't you want to be hanging out in this space?
The market side is loaded with fun spices, mixes, salts, vinegars, olive oils, pastas, sauces, jams, etc...
So Many Fun Foodie Things to Browse!!!
I've not visited Pasadena much, but after actually driving into the old quaint area of town, I see regular trips in my future... and especially with this cafe waiting...
Welcome Welcome Welcome
And now back to my shopping...
SALT!!!
Of course Jake had fun with the pics in this cool part of town - Mary had on her walking boots...
So she took us on a tour of the alleys around her shop.

I loved her boots, Jake had to yell at me to take my hands off of them...
Patrick Grabbing Mary Pat's Boot!

It was an amazing June day...
Blooming Trees
And there were so many amazing shots in the alleys right around Holly...

More Windows!
This space was about a block from The Market On Holly, apparently it is used for special events with space for outdoor bar, seating, music, dancing...

These are just a few of the pics Jake took, including this clock tour shot he got as we were driving out of town...

Thanks Finding Friends on Facebook for helping me fine a DEAR FRIEND...
So Much ALLEY FUN!!!
