DAY TWO - Count down to MOOD MADNESS with some ALTITUDE!

One day to go before the DEBUT of MOOD WINE CLUB at the LOFT. I'd like to recap - I've introduced you to the stunning Woodworth Vineyards Pinot Noir, and the Seductive Fazeli Cellars Yalda, now it's time for the final of the three big reds in our first club offering...
Perry Creek - Altitude 2401 2007 Zinfandel
One of our goals in launching Mood Wine is to find amazing wines that aren't easy to get. For our first club we really wanted a classic California Zinfandel because, well it's so CLASSIC...
Can't wait for you to taste this wine!
Here are my tasting notes on it:

"My first smell while stuffing my nose in a glass of this wine was rewarded with blackberries, prunes and dusty violets. My first taste confirmed my nose and added to that - layers of black plums, currants, classic (Zin) black pepper and nuances of cedar. The mid-palate continued to evolve with added extraction and silky mouth feel balanced by just enough acid to make this wine scream for food. The finish lingered with enough structure to warrant the praise and multiple awards this high altitude wine has received."

And then there's this 93 point review from Tasting Review Wine Panel Magazine...
Review from Tasting Review Wine Magazine
In conclusion... I LOVE THIS WINE. I can't wait to start writing recipes for it. They will be forthcoming on the blog in the next weeks and months - and you'll be able to purchase more from our online shopping cart.

For those in the Palm Springs area coming to our LOFT tasting... YAY, and for those in other areas... stay-tuned - we are on our way; in the meantime, here's a reload of the videocast I did on these three wines...
